Editor's Note:
Well ladies, I trust everything has gone well this past week.It
has been a rather hectic week for us on this end. As many of you
may or may not know, D'Lorie Designs has come up with a sister
site to our help forum. We hope that it will help all of you
with your web businesses. Please remember that we're here to
help you succeed. Give us some feedback and let us know what
you need.
On a more personal note. There is a lot going on around the
world at the moment. It seems that everyday we inch closer to a
war. Everyday we wake a little more nervous, tense, or
apprehensive. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with all of
those that need it most.
Sincerely,
Jessica Delgado, Editor

-----------Article: "Pay Per Click Search Engines"--------------
by: Jogena
Are you taking advantage of the cost effective pay per
click search engines? You can drive huge amounts of
traffic to your site for just pennies per click.
Even though some of the more general keywords have become
quite expensive, there are still plenty of good
inexpensive ones left that will work just as well. Being
too general with your keywords will not bring you
targeted traffic anyway. So focus on keywords and
keyword phrases specific to your product or service.
Some of the larger pay per click search engines are
partnering with the major search engines like AltaVista
and Lycos to increase your clickthrus. Take advantage of this by
choosing keywords and keyword phrases that rank in the top three
positions of each participating pay per click search engine
whenever possible.
These sites will help you determine your best keywords and
keyword phrases.

Now that you've determined your best keywords and keyword
phrases it's time to submit them to the pay per click search
engines. Here are a few to get you started.

Now to help you keep your bids on top, visit these sites that
monitor your bids for you.

In a nutshell, you determine your best keywords and keyword
phrases, set up your pay per click accounts, then monitor your
bids for the best results.

-----------Review: Pay Per Click Search Engines------------
A pay-per-click search engine is pretty much just that. You pay
whenever someone clicks on your link, and views your site.
So, let's say that someone types in "body lotions" and your site
sells body lotions. For arguments sake, lets say that you use
pay-per-click. You have it set so that you are willing to pay
.20 cents for every visitor that clicks on your link, and for
arguments sake, let's say that's the highest.
Great! A new customer! Well, not exactly. Although you may be
paying .20 cents per click, it doesn't guarantee you a customer.
What it does guarantee, in a way, is traffic. When someone sees
your site at the top of the list or on the top-right corner,
they will most likely click on that link.
So, you have a tourist to your site. This is not a bad thing.
Actually, it can be good. However, it does not guarantee a
purchase.
This is something to keep in mind when you start your
pay-per-click adventure. What I would recommend is using the
pay-per-click option until you have gained enough popularity and
traffic that you will score high on the search engines.
Happy Surfing!
-----Article: "A Quick Time Planner Exercise"--------------
by: Andrew Laing & Gary Wilkinson
Here's an eye-opening exercise.
It's fast and simple to carry out but it will tell you a lot
about your use of time. The first blank has been filled in,
please complete those remaining.
1. 168 Number of hours in a week. (24 X 7 = 168)
2. ___ Average number of hours you sleep each week. (Most of us
sleep about 7 hours per night for a total of 49 per week. If
this sounds about right for you, use this figure.)
3.___ Number of hours per week you will do chores/or manage a
household.
4.___ Number of hours you spend on hobbies, recreation, church
/synagogue/mosque, other activities.
5.___ Number of hours for eating shopping, watching TV,
traveling to and from work etc.
6.___ Number of hours hours you spend working.
7.___ Total of hours in questions 2 through 6.
8.___ If your answer to question number 8 is less than 168,
subtract it from 168. THIS IS YOUR FREE TIME you will have each
week!
9.___ If your answer to question number 8 is greater than 168,
you have NO FREE TIME!
The results may come as a bit of a surprise to you. Perhaps you
didn't realise just how much time you work (or don't depending
upon the results:o). Free time is a very important aspect of
running a successful business.
It will keep you refreshed and your family will be more
supportive if they know that you set time aside to be with
them too.
