At Sensible Solutions what you find are great services at an
affordable price. Our Jack of All Trades member, Debra Fields
currently owns and operates Sensible Solutions. Sensible solutions
provides a
home-based office support service; providing all forms of assistance
to business and individuals. Quite appropriately located on Workman
Avenue in West Covina, CA, Debra has been in business for the last
10 years.
How did she do it?
"My husband was able to design a web site to promote
my services. I thought it was a very good idea, as I was just starting
out and needed the additional exposure," said Debra.
Once the site was up and running, she submitted the URL to search
engines to
get the name out there. Not only has she gained local clients, but
has now gained 2 international clients!
One thing that has helped her in her field has been keeping up with
her
studies and taking classes to make her more marketable. Debra had
always done transcription, but when she wanted to expand her business
to assist the medical field, she turned to classes to learn medical
transcription.
"I decided that I would like to also expand into the medical
transcription field.
Last year I took classes in medical terminology, medical billing,
transcription
class and am currently taking a review online class for transcription.
I posted an ad requesting overflow work for medical transcriptions.
Last week, I received 4 e-mails from individuals who all want me to
help them.
I am presently working with one company and negotiating with the others.
Due to this, my business has doubled in a week."
One piece of advice that Debra would like to share with those starting
out
is, "to join some networking group to get your name out."
Congratulations Debra! Keep up the good work!
